As the Schaden team has been a fan of Manneke's Vilnius book for a long time, we proudly present his new book!

With his semi-detached style Thomas Manneke explores the night-time of Odessa, the beaches and family outings, the remains of history and is generally drawn to those places where fresh and unseen images are waiting. The editing is quite ballsy, from a art academy drawing class we jump into the hot club scene, and straight into the life of the street kids begging for money.

Wir lieben diese Mischung aus Fröhlichkeit und Melancholie! Manneke gelingt es, neugierig und offen einzutauchen, sich von den richtigen Leuten an die spannenden Orte führen zu lassen, und gleichzeitig gelassen, beinahe zurückgelehnt, mitten ins Leben zu fotografieren. Die Mischung aus Sex und Unschuld die dabei entsteht, die Kombination von dokumentarischen Arbeiten und kurzen Strecken, die an Modefotografie erinnern, und dass an einem Ort, wo das post-sowjetische Leben nur so brummt: sehr frisch!
