Dieses Buch stellt die Frage, ob eine romantische Sicht auf Denver und den amerikanischen Westen gänzlich falsch war. Wir erblicken genug an Himmel, Feldern und Bergen, um zu glauben, daß dies nicht so war - und vielleicht nicht ist -, obwohl die Fotografien auch die Eingriffe auflisten, mit denen wir unsere Vision bloßgestellt haben.

The question that this book raises is wether a romantic view of Denver and the American West was entirely wrong. We see enough of the sky, the fields and mountains to be able to believe that it was not - and perhaps is not - although the photographs catalog many ways in which we have compromised our vision.
