Photographer Wiebke Loeper shows in her book the family pictures of two men, side by side. Both were apprenticed as butchers in Pomerania - but from then on theier lives take widly disparate paths. Loeper traces their biographies. She discovers and compares their private lives as well as their day to day work in their respective butcher's shops in Wisconsin (USA) and Mecklenburg (former 'East Germany).
